Project Description:
The Reserve is a 28-acre site with a regional stormwater facility situated near
the center of the development. The facility contains over 20-acre feet of
detention and serves 126 homes within The Reserve, as well as over 100 homes in
the adjacent development of Crofton Hills. The detention facility was developed
as a park-like amenity for the community and includes a half-mile loop walking
trail, benches, picnic areas, an overlook, and a neighborhood park. The site
emphasizes pedestrian connections with adjacent amenities and neighborhoods
through a trail system that connects to a public right of way and nearby
Kentwood High School. The resulting 5-acre regional storm water facility is a
critical, yet aesthetically pleasing element that reduces the negative impact of
stormwater runoff within the Soos Creek drainage basin.
