Project Description:
To eliminate problems such as evaporation, unauthorized use and contamination,
Sunnyside Valley Irrigation District is replacing open lateral irrigation
ditches with enclosed pipes. The two-year project includes $30 million of design
and construction work funded by shovel-ready, stimulus money. For Phase 1 and 2,
Triad is providing survey control for the aerial mapping of 19 miles of laterals
and will remain on-call for additional surveying as needed. Eventually, the
irrigation district hopes to have their whole system underground.
