Project Description:
Built under the City of Redmond's Innovative Housing Code, Conover Commons is a
neighborhood of 25 homes, 12 of which are cottage homes clustered around a
shared community green. The remaining homes are situated on a gentle hillside
and share a common pedestrian corridor, providing homeowner interaction when
walking among homes, garages, common areas and community buildings. Residents
enjoy a garden courtyard, large commons building, small meeting cottage,
children’s play area, covered picnic pavilion and a peaceful viewing platform
overlooking a heavily wooded ravine. Triad provided site design, civil
engineering, survey and landscape architecture for this community. Many of the
4-Star Built Green certifications were a result of Triad’s work: small-lot site
design, natural habitat preservation, native and drought-tolerant vegetation
use, minimal lawn area and innovative stormwater management techniques.
